pottery journey
HELLO!
Originating from the desire to see myself in the work I do, the glazed ceramic works represent the training process and the change in my worldview from practicing art.
Born and raised in Saigon, deep inside me there are always hidden memories of the land and people here. I want to exploit the simple images in Saigon life, especially the image of Vietnamese women during the labor process.
Besides, the elements of form and motifs of Vietnamese fine arts always arouse my curiosity and desire to explore them. The more I learn about them, the more I understand myself and the history that has created me.
The ceramic techniques I focus on include Bien Hoa carving and enameling, the decoration of Hoa Nau ceramics, experimenting with the richness of fire-changing glazes, traditional glazes such as eel skin, white or bronze green, which are typical of Bien Hoa ceramics.
Through my works, I hope to express the beauty of Vietnamese pottery and Vietnamese culture through the youthful lens of the generation I am a part of. At the same time, I express my support and praise for the spirit and noble values of Vietnamese women.
